Community, Environment, Sustainability

Within the local and broader community and environment, TDC actively contribute to initiatives which are both sensitive and sustainable and which benefit the environment and communities we touch. Some of the ways we contribute are by volunteering our time and offering our expertise.

Rotary

Since 2021 TDC have been associated with Rotary International. As an active member of the Cleveland Club, Director Glen Davidson has volunteered his spare time to work with the club to raise funds to support local and international charities and projects.

Locally, these have included funding for:

  • Rotary Exchange Students;

  • E-Waste - Battery Recycling Project (working with circular economy and sustainable practices)

  • Numerous Redlands community support programs.

For the 2023/2024 year Glen has held the Board position of Membership Director. Additionally he has represented the Club at Rotary International's Conference in Brisbane in 2023 and at ongoing Redlands Coast Chamber of Commerce Events.

Children's Health Queensland -  Community Choir

With the very early arrival of our next generation of 'Davidson' (2005) an early respect was formed for the specialist, highly skilled practitioners involved in pediatric (neonatal) health at the then Mater Children's Hospital. Ever grateful for their care, and being lovers of music, our Business Manager, Adena Davidson (and son) decided to volunteer time to bring joy to other families.

In 2023 this culminated in TDC beginning it's association with Children's Health Queensland via their Community Choir. This choir, supported by QPAC,  make music every week, filling the Hospital with harmony and performing for key events several times a year, honouring the staff and families of this essential hospital.

Environment & Sustainability

Building our capacity as a business, has involved our committing to developing our  environmental management plan.

We are continuing to develop our environment and sustainability initiatives for our business, seeking guidance from our affiliates and expert team.

Local Koala Habitat

Located in a Koala corridor in Brisbane's bayside, it is a daily delight to walk among the soaring gums and try to spot one or more of our local koala residents.

Ever present in our day is the reminder of our desire to be considerate of our natural environment and the way in which we work and live in unison.

Regional Environments

Traveling and working with clients in regional areas encouraged TDC to formally present our services to the Local Government Councils of Queensland's procurement arm.

This year we have made application to join this service to offer our expertise. We hope to be able to offer our competitive, value proposition to Queensland and other States under this arrangement soon.

Working with communities initiatives

It has been our privilege to work with many clients who are sensitive to local landscapes and environments.

Some of our work for new projects has provided us with the opportunity to engage respectfully with Traditional Owners to better understand the potential impact on the environment and their communities. Our aim is always to to work with local communities and businesses to provide opportunities and the best outcomes.
