Defence Acquisition and Manufacturing Project

New South Wales 2023-

~complex defence

~stakeholder management, ~mentorship, guidance

In the unique environment of delivering a sail training vessel and the support system for Defence, TDC was brought in to ensure the client and their sub-contractors could meet the specific needs of the CoA (Commonwealth).

Working with Defence can be a very different experience for commercially focused businesses and TDC recognised this posed a challenge for our client early in our engagement. TDC’s deep knowledge of complex defence projects allowed us to coach and mentor project team members on aspects of defence project management and systems engineering along with managing the delivery of the support system.

We have been honoured to be entrusted to guide and assist our client in this ongoing capacity.

Pre-Feasibility-Aluminium Refinery Tailings Dam & De-watering

Central Queensland/ Fitzroy 2023-

~new process

~full integration

~stakeholder management

This project provided a wonderful opportunity to be part of a team to conduct a trial of a dewatering method (utilising a centrifuge) to be fully integrated into the plant process. As a new process, many challenges presented.

Careful nurturing and clear communication were essential in order to bring the array of stakeholders on the journey.

TDC managed the Pre-feasibility study (including engineering), developing the full study reports and approval gate documents.

This led to the stakeholders having confidence in the project and successfully gaining approval to implement the project.

Aluminium Smelter Project

Regional Queensland 2024-

~cost effectiveness

~critical asset

~review

~gap analysis

Determining the most cost-effective solutions to enable the plant critical crane assets to continue operating, as they were reaching their original end of life, was the key challenge on this project.

With previously conducted extensive front-end loading studies not achieving a workable solution and business case, TDC rose to the challenge, working closely with all the stakeholders undertaking a full project and engineering review producing a gap analysis report.
